About

I'm a stay at home mom. I have three little boys who get up at the crack of dawn. Unless I'm crazy enough to get up while it's still night (which sometimes I am), my mornings are a little rushed. I don't usually have time to myself before the house is awake. I have visions of the day I'll be able to sit down with a cup of hot tea in the morning and soak in the Word for an hour or so before I see another soul. But until I find some special energy potion or my kids decide they like to sleep in a little longer, that's not my reality. And, whether you're a stay at home mom with early risers or someone who's trying to beat rush hour to work, this may not be your reality either.

But here's what is reality: we desperately need to focus on Christ before we start our day. How familiar does this sound: you're rushing through the day and trying to fit God in where you can. But our God is a holy God who wants nothing but our all, our everything. And when He's offering us so much, why do we settle with giving Him the leftovers?

This blog is designed to give you a tidbit to focus you every morning. I get it, you don't have a lot of time. But if we start our day focusing on Truth, we can let it permeate the rest of our schedule. Each morning you'll find a new passage to dwell on throughout the day. If we can get our day started off focusing on Christ, my prayer is that the rest of our day will follow suit.

In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus.
